Michelle de Kretser has won the 2013 Miles Franklin Literary Award!

Michelle de Kretser has won the 2013 Miles Franklin Literary Award!

The winner of this year's Miles Franklin Award has been revealed and we are absolutely delighted to announce that Michelle de Kretser has won for her dazzling novel Questions of Travel.

The judges noted that 'Michelle de Kretser explores questions of home and away, travel and tourism, refugees and migrants, as well as "questions of travel" in the virtual world, charting the rapid changes in electronic communication that mark our lives today. She brings these large questions close-up and personal with her witty and poignant observations, her vivid language.'

Congratulations to Michelle from everyone at Allen & Unwin!

The Miles Franklin Literary Award is one of Australia's longest-running and most prestigious literary awards; the first winner was Patrick White, for Voss, in 1957.
