Important changes to Allen & Unwin's submission guidelines
From February 12, Allen & Unwin will expand its Friday Pitch program to incorporate all adult fiction and non-fiction submissions (excluding academic) to the company
Knowing it’s important to authors to have their manuscripts read as quickly as possible – and building on the success of our existing FRIDAY PITCH program – we’ve decided that henceforth
ALL unsolicited adult fiction and non-fiction submissions to Allen & Unwin will be incorporated into an expanded FRIDAY PITCH.
Hence, from Friday 12th February 2010 we will
only accept unsolicited adult fiction and non-fiction manuscript submissions – apart from those aimed at our academic list (see separate guidelines) – if they are sent
electronically to
fridaypitch@allenandunwin.com.
Hard copy submissions
will not be accepted for consideration
after 5 February 2010 - any hard copy received after that date will be recycled without assessment. Please note: our new system begins on 12 January 2010. Detailed instructions for the new way to submit appear under the FRIDAY PITCH button on the left of this page.
Books for Children and Teenagers
Allen & Unwin's Books for Children and Teenagers department will not be accepting any unsolicited manuscripts at this time, for any age group or topic, as our list is currently at capacity. We look forward to reviewing this policy in the future. Exceptions will be made for queries sent via established authors or literary agents.
