Jacqui is a painter who exhibits regularly and has work in private collections internationally. She is also a director of a graphic design and new media company.
She says: 'I grew up in Africa, climbing trees, swimming in the sea and making huts in the vines, and now I live in New Zealand in a house with a higgledy-piggledy garden by the sea. My garden is like a jungle. An eel lives in the darkest part of the stream and lots of native birds chatter away to me when I am in my studio. Working on picture books is like leaping back to my childhood and a chance for my fantasies and memories to collide.'
