Alan Drew graduated from Iowa in 2004 where he studied closely with mentor Ethan Canin. His short fiction has appeared in Glimmer Train and elsewhere. He lived in Turkey for two years while serving with the Peace Corps, and was there at the time of the 1999 earthquake that claimed over 30,000 lives. He lives and teaches in Cincinnati, USA.
