On this page you will find links to websites for unions, employer organisations and government departments and tribunals for each of the countries covered in the book. The sites that are listed for you to explore are a tiny percentage of those that can be found and that are relevant. They have been very carefully selected according to a number of criteria.

• The sites have been chosen to complement the text by providing insights into current employment relations policy and practice in the ten countries of the study, and to give you a pathway to navigate the rich maze of comparative employment relations.
• Language was another important criterion. It has been assumed that English will be the working language of most users and, sites without at least some English language material have, for the most part, been excluded. For the European countries in particular, this criterion has limited the selection of websites. Users with a working knowledge of any of the languages other than English should explore further.
• Representativeness, authority and currency are the other criteria that have guided selection. All of the sites and their URLs were up-to-date in December 2003. It would be naïve to assume that nothing will have changed by the time that this website becomes available. You may find that not everything is what it seems, and that some tenacity and a judicious use of redirections and search engines is necessary for you to reach your target.

We hope that you will use this selection as a springboard for your own systematic and purposeful ‘ information discovery’.
