The Friday Pitch: New Zealand Non-Fiction submissions

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Allen & Unwin New Zealand currently accepts unsolicited non-fiction manuscripts. We have an extremely broad-ranging list, and are interested in covering topics that are exclusively New Zealand focused through to subjects of interest worldwide.

At present we are not considering illustrated non-fiction, adult fiction, or children’s manuscripts, however, Allen & Unwin Australia are currently considering these genres. Please see the submissions homepage for more information.

HOW TO SUBMIT

  1. In your email subject line, specify that yours is a 'Non-Fiction Submission' and include a couple of words about the subject area.
  2. Copy and paste the Title Information Sheet into the email body, and fill in the requested information.
  3. Attach a double-spaced FIRST CHAPTER and a 300 word SYNOPSIS as a word document.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

When you send us your submission, you'll receive an automatic email acknowledging receipt. No other acknowledgement will be sent to you.

Should Allen & Unwin wish to pursue your project, we will be in contact with you via email within the fortnight. Please note that we do not send individual acceptance or rejection letters. If you do not hear from us, please assume that we do not wish to pursue your manuscript for our lists. No further correspondence will be entered into and we will not provide you with reasons for our decision.
