Scott Westerfeld is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Uglies and Leviathan trilogies. His novel So Yesterday won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award. His latest solo novel is Afterworlds.
Outside of his own work, Scott has occasionally worked as a ghost writer which he describes as “driving someone else’s care really, really fast for lots of money." Although, he can’t share any of the famous writers he’s ghost-written for without killing you, his name can be found on three Powerpuff Girl choose your own adventure books.
Scott is best known for his books for young adults, the most famous works are the Leviathan trilogy, a steampunk retelling of World War I, and the Uglies series, which is set in a future where cosmetic surgery is compulsory when you turn 16, making everyone beautiful.
He is currently co-writing the Zeroes series with Margo Lanagan and Deborah Biancotti. They meet at a pub to keep the Zeroes series on track and squabble about characters' motivations.
Scott was born in Texas, but now splits his time between New York City and Sydney, Australia.
