The Readings Children’s Book Prize 2018 shortlist

We are delighted to announce that The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone by Jaclyn Moriarty has been shortlisted for the 2018 Readings Children's Book Prize!

The Readings Children's Book Prize recognises and celebrates Australian books that children love to read, and raises the profile of debut and on-the-rise Australian children's book authors. The Prize is judged by a panel of Readings children's book specialists, who will be joined by children's book author Davina Bell to decide the winner.

From the judges' report:

'Bronte is a sensible, kind and resourceful traveller who takes everything in her stride, whether she’s winning an elfish medal or starting an avalanche. Jam-packed with love and laughter, Jaclyn Moriarty’s first book for younger readers is lovely and fat and features energetic illustrations from Kelly Canby.'

Congratulations to Jaclyn Moriarty! The winner will be revealed in April this year. Find out more about the prize here.
