Congratulations to Larry Writer, whose book Dangerous Games has been shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.
Judges say: "In this beautifully written and extraordinarily well-researched book, Larry Writer examines the tale of 33 Australian Olympians who travelled across the world to participate at the Berlin Games in 1936. It is the story of sport and politics colliding, as well as the friendships that were formed during such a tumultuous journey."
The winner will be announced on December 2, we'll have fingers crossed then!

by Larry Writer
A team of thirty-three Australian athletes competed in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Poorly prepared and with limited support, they bravely faced formidable competition. Larry Writer recreates their experience so vividly we can imagine ourselves in the famous stadium surrounded by swastikas.
